Global Economic Crisis will not affect smartcity kochi project:Tecom

The CEO of Tecom Farid Rahman said that smart city project will not be affected. He was contradicting Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan's statements regarding the delay of Smartcity project. The the delay of the Smart City project is due to the laid back attitude of the State Government. He said the company had made huge investments and will go ahead in implementing the project.

The main reason for the delay was land issues, registration and SEZ status for the area.

Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan had said that the lease agreement with Tecom on Smart City has got lapsed as per the Indian Registration Act. Steps are being taken to sign a fresh agreement, he told the Assembly.
